Smoke-Free Parks

Help make San Jose city parks smoke-free

The Tobacco Free Collaborative of San Jose is advancing a proposal to make all of the city's parks smoke-free. Such a ban would protect our children from the many dangers of secondhand smoke and foster a healthy community in San Jose. Join the effort to make San Jose an even better place to live, work and play! Why make San Jose parks smoke free?

Voice your Opinion!

At its November 2 meeting, the San Jose Parks and Recreation Commission will decide whether to recommend a smoke-free parks proposal to the city council. Make sure the comissioners know that a smoke-free parks proposal is an important issue to you. You can show your support of the smoking ban by:

1) Attending the San Jose Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. Each meeting allows the opportunity for the public to address the commission. Join us on:

Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 5 p.m.
City Hall, Wing 120
200 East Santa Clara Street
San Jose, CA 95113

2) Writing a letter to the Commissioners. You can send your letter to the commission’s staff member, Cindy Escobar, who will forward your message to each of the members.
